Theatre Professionals Private Ltd have, for a long time, been the go-to company for quality round-the-year theatre workshops in the city. In 2013, they took their efforts of theatre education one step further, and founded The Drama School Mumbai. This year, Thespo and DSM have decided to join forces to conduct a series of workshops called Natyakala. Spanning 5 cities (Bombay, Delhi, Pune, Jaipur and Nagpur) over the months of January to April 2017, this series of workshops plans to engage the youth across the country, spreading the love for theatre, and nurturing the passion that they already hold within. Loud and Clear! in Baroda

Natyakala is a foundation level acting workshop. The workshop will focus on vocals. It will cover breathing techniques, voice modulation and projection. It is an exciting workshop that will help young actors to train their vocal cords and improve the voice quality through various exercises.

About Asif:

He is an actor and trainer. Asif has lent his vocal talent as a dubbing artiste for the voice of ‘Winnie the Pooh’ and several other Disney characters. Besides this he also dubbed for the voice of Sid in ‘Ice Age 3/4/5’, ‘Happy Feet’, ‘The Smurf Movie’, ‘Madagascar’, ‘Cars’, Olaf in ‘Frozen’ and several other productions.

Act it Out! in Pune

Natyakala is a foundation level acting workshop. The workshop will unleash your creative/imaginative forces so as to enrich your performance. It will involve games, exercises and techniques that allow you to explore a scene in order to find truly alive moments on stage.

Padma Damodaran: Padma Damodaran is an actor, director, writer and trainer and currently performs in Manav Kaul's 'Chuhal', Danish Hussain's Qissebaazi, and Mahesh Dattani's directed play Menghaobi - The Fair One written by Shanta Gokhale.

​She also appears on Tere Liye Bro, a web series on Bindass Channel. ​

She recently directed 'Given' as part of the Royal Court UK and Rage Productions' Writer's Bloc festival. Her film 'Mantra' won the best feature award at the South Asian Film Festival, New York and her short film 'Best Friends Forever' won the National Award for best film on family values.

​She is the co-founder of the Drama School Mumbai.​

He received acclaim for his portrayal of freedom fighter Anant Kanhere in the Marathi film 1909. His recent work with Astitva, Agdeech Shoonya is currently touring across Maharashtra.

About Yuki: Yuki Ellias (London School of Performing Arts | Jacques Leqoc School of Theatre, Paris) - Yuki is an actor, director, and a corporate coach with on-going theatre shows like 'Elephant in the Room' and 'Dying to Succeed', and a dance show 'Keep Calm & Dance'. She is the movement choreographer on Mahesh Dattani's made-for-TV film, 'Final Solutions'. Yuki has performed across the globe at venues like the Royal Shakespeare Co., The Sydney Theatre Co, The Roundhouse London, Teatro Roman Verona with the internationally acclaimed 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' directed by Tim Supple. Ellias has also been the movement director for UK's Opera North production of Mozart's Magic Flute.

Mask Workshop in Nagpur

An introduction to the connection of the expressive performer’s body to its core. Using elements from journey of Jacques Lecoq’s neutral mask and exploration of ‘Rasa’(emotive states), This workshop develops the actor’s presence; awakening a sense of discovery, openness and a capacity to play with the whole body and imagination.

About Tushar: Tushar Pandey (National School of Drama, Delhi | London School of Performing Arts) - Tushar is an India based Actor , Director and a Teacher. He is an Inlaks Shivdasani International Scholar, specialisation on Lecoq's pedagogy from the London International School of Performing Arts (LISPA) and a graduate of the National School of Drama (NSD), India, Tushar has been practising performance since 2003. During the last seven years, he has been associated with various projects in India and the UK, performing, conducting workshops, creating works from classical styles to site-specific contemporary, acrobatic and mask-based works.
